Donald Tripp, 88, of Ocilla passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Steve Tucker officiating. Mr. Tripp will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Mr. Tripp’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 15, 1935, in Sylvester, Mr. Tripp was the son of the late Pearson Tripp and Ida Tripp. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janis Dawn Sauls Tripp, who passed away on October 2, 2023; two sons, Tommy Tripp and Jimmy Tripp; one daughter, Linda Moreno; one granddaughter, Kirstyn Tripp; four brothers, Joe Tripp, Ed Tripp, Ernest Tripp and Henry Tripp; and one sister, Hazel Hunnicutt. Before retiring, he worked as a heavy equipment operator; and he was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mr. Tripp is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Marsha Tripp of Ocala, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jimmy Rutland of Ocala, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Tripp of Ocilla; two step-sons and their wives, Victor and Kim Crews and Jay and Milly Crews, all of Okeechobee, Florida; two step-daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Randy Hutto of Okeechobee, Florida and Karen Schwingel of Ocala, Florida; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren, fourteen step great-grandchildren; four step great-great grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews; and his two four-legged babies, Little Buddy and Penny.
Flowers will be accepted; or memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
