Kathy Kemp Griffis, 76, of Key West, Florida, formerly of Tifton, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in Key West, Florida. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Griffis at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Pastor John Lehenbauer officiating.
Born March 12, 1947, in Key West, Florida, Mrs. Griffis was the daughter of the late Orris Kemp and Margaret Goff Kemp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Griffis; and one son, Chad Griffis, who passed away on June 16, 2018. She was the Director of the Coastal Plains Regional Library; and she was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Tifton. She was a strong supporter of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Tifton.
Mrs. Griffis is survived by one son, Wayne Griffis; one brother, William Kemp; one sister, Peggy Mira; five grandchildren, Joseph Griffis, Michael Griffis, Brandon Griffis, William Griffis and Luna Griffis; and two great-grandchildren, Keiran Burke and Addaline Griffis.
