Pastor Earlie Holt, 87, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Christian Tabernacle in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Mark Lavender officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Pastor Holt was born January 4, 1937, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Cecil Claude & Lillie Bordeux Holt. He was a 1958 graduate of Coffee County High School and worked as produce manager at the Colonial Store in Fitzgerald. He was a plumber, who owned and operated his business, for over 45 years. Pastor Holt was a minister for 65 years and pastored Christian Tabernacle for over 50 years. He loved drinking coffee at Ronny’s and was always ready to tell a good fishing story. He loved God’s creation and enjoyed spending time and camping at Ecofina. Pastor Holt was an avid fisherman who enjoyed cleaning and cooking fish as well as a devoted fisher of men who delighted in bringing the lost to salvation. He was a perfect example of a good and faithful servant of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Brenda Clemons Holt of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Tammy Rowell of Fitzgerald and a son, Randy & Regina Holt of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Rebecca & Dale Roberson, Greg & Stacey Rowell, Shannon Holt, Chris Holt, Tabitha & Timothy Lambert, Kelsey Holt and Brooke Holt; two brothers: Allie Holt of Jacksonville, Florida and Cecil & Lucille Holt of Douglas; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Dewey, Johnny and Orman; and sisters: Wilamae, Hazel, Beatrice and Linda.
