Larry D. Muckenhirn
May 4, 1945- January 20, 2024

Larry D. Muckenhirn, 78, of Anderson, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was born on May 4, 1945 in Pontiac, MI, the son of Robert and Bernice (Gilmore) Muckenhirn.

He graduated from Rochester High School and attended Ferris State University and Michigan State with degrees in Food Service Management and Business. He was employed for 33 years with the Anderson Community Schools as the Food Service Director.
Larry and Le Anna established PaceSetter Farm, a Standardbred training facility with co-owner, Chad (Tree) Gooding. He was a veteran, serving in the National Guard. His memberships included Northsouth Skirmish Association, 19th Indiana IV, United Stated Trotting Association, devoted member of Friends of Bill W. Fellowship, American, Indiana, and local School Nutrition Association, he served as Past President and Director of the Year of Indiana SNA, Moonsville Conservation Club, and Woodcarvers Association,
His hobbies included Standardbred Harness Racing, Gardening, RV Travel, woodcarving and woodworking, and shooting black powder rifles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, LeAnna (Dillon) Muckenhirn; stepson, Chad (Tree) Gooding; sister, Sandy Goodwill; daughter-in-law, Lisa Muckenhirn; grandchildren, Kristina (Christian) Cetlinski, Jon Muckenhirn, Claire Gooding; sisters-in-law, Amy Dillon Macomber and Cathy Muckenhirn; brother-in-law Tim (Paula) Dillon; nieces and nephews, Tracey Hunter, Michele (Rick) Gagnon, Merianne (Russ) Tappan, Emily Bellairs, Bryan (Katie) Goodwill, Riley (Shawn Shepard) Reason, Brandon Dillon and Jake (Haylee)Dillon; extended family Alicia Aynes and Delanie Fort and his loving canine companions, Buddy and Benin.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Bernice; brother, Gordon Muckenhirn; brother-in-law, Ric Goodwill and son, Michael Muckenhirn.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Mill Creek Civic Center from 1 to 4 p.m. His remains will be interred at Jones Cemetery. As Larry would say… “One day at a time.”

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all his devoted friends and family for their support and love. Also to Dr. David Mares, Brandon Aiman PA, Dr. Sharief , Dr. Chad Lamb and their staff for their special care during his illness.
