Obituary

Cynthia Jane DeLuca, a resident of Franklin, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in her home on January 20, 2024 at the age of 71. She was born to Thomas and Mary Eunice Nicholson on December 19, 1952, in Milford, Massachusetts.

Cynthia was a loving mother and devoted grandmother, leaving behind cherished memories with her family.

She dedicated her life to education, earning a Masters Degree from Worcester State College. For an impressive 37 years, Cynthia passionately taught 1st Grade, impacting the lives of countless students. Her commitment to shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning was evident in the lives she touched throughout her career. Cynthia's legacy as an educator will continue to inspire generations to come.

In addition to her professional achievements, Cynthia found joy in her role as a mother and grandmother.

Cynthia loved the beach, crafts, yoga, swimming, and animals, especially her dogs. She created a warm and nurturing home, filled with love, and laughter. Cynthia will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the positive impact she had on the lives of those around her.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Peter DeLuca, of 32 years who has been her dedicated caretaker for the last several years. They have proven love has no boundaries and love always wins.

She is survived by her children Erin (Justin) Cameron of Old Lyme Connecticut, Rod (April) Cameron of Bellingham Massachusetts, Juliet (Scott) MacDonald of Bellingham Massachusetts, Jade (Michael) Harn of Norton Massachusetts, Marcus DeLuca of Norton Massachusetts. Her son-in-law Szilard Orvos of Pomfret Connecticut and her step children Sarah (Eric) Sims of Hughes Springs Texas, Peter DeLuca of Olympia Washington, and Jonathan (Allison) DeLuca of Maryville Tennessee.

Cynthia was adored by her 18 grandchildren Tavia, Avin, Naomi, Trent, Lane, Sullivan, Sterling, Morrison, Cecilia, Noah, Jacob, Luke, Eli, Annabelle, Shawn, Madison, Mason.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Natalie Orvos and grandson Elek Orvos.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Saturday January 27th, from 12-2PM.

A funeral service will follow at 2PM.

Her interment will be held privately.
