Richard Anthony Sylvia, 65, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Richard and Hilda (Carvalho) Sylvia, he lived in New Bedford all of his life. He was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School, Class of 1976.
Rick went on to build his career as a Journeyman Lineman beginning at Com Electric in 1979 and was employed with MTV Solutions at the time of his passing. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed long scenic rides. He was a member of the absolved Independent Bikers Federation.
He is survived by his wife, Gina; his sister, Donna Lee Burgo and her husband Steven; his son, Richard John, his wife Candace, and their three children; his daughter, Stasia Lee, her husband Michael, and their three children; his daughter, Ksea, her husband Jacob and their three children; his stepdaughter, Bethany and her three children; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends all of whom he adored.
