Bill attended school in Millinocket and Mattawamkeag. He was married for 25 years to his late wife, Catherine M. (Romprey) Bell. Bill worked in many different fields throughout his life, but his passion was residential carpentry. Building things and tinkering were his specialties. He spent most of his free time fishing with the love of his life. Along with his love for fishing, Bill also loved hunting, singing and dancing, and liked to squeeze in a game of cribbage with friends whenever he could.
Bill and Cathy loved to help others, especially their children. He was always off helping a friend fix something, usually supervising. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Especially his best friend of 46 years, Larry McNamara. He always had a good joke to tell, and having fun was his motivation.
