Rene Barrera, 64, of Tifton passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A private funeral service will be held for Mr. Barrera at a later date.
Born June 13, 1959, in San Benito, Texas, Mr. Barrera was the son of Martin Barrera, Sr. of Tifton and the late Belia Garza Barrientos Barrera. He was a self-employed truck driver.
In addition to his father, Mr. Barrera is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Reno and M. K. Barrera and David Barrera, all of Atlanta; two daughters and one son-in-law, Michelle and Adrian Arguello of Texas and Sarah Barrera of Brownsville, Texas; one brother, Martin Barrera, Jr. of Sierra Vista, Arizona; four sisters and one son-in-law, Noemi Barrera of Tifton and Ramon Claudio of San Benito, Texas, Annie Cox of Tifton, Dora Robles of San Benito, Texas and Melva Barrera of Tifton; and several grandchildren.
