WORCESTER - Katherine M. (Nikosey) Thomas, 87, loving wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 18, 2024 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House with her loving family by her side.
Born on April 2, 1936 in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose (Najemy) Nikosey. She was the loving wife to the late Joseph A. Thomas.
Katherine was a lifelong resident and a graduate of St Stephen’s High School. She worked as a bank teller for Mechanics Bank for many years and later worked as a sales representative for Avon cosmetics for over thirty years.
Katherine was a longtime member and parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Worcester where she was an active volunteer for her church bingo nights. She was most happy at family gatherings and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sports events.
She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Richard G. Thomas and his wife Marni, James J. Thomas and his wife Noreen, Michael A. Thomas and his wife Rhonda, and Paul D. Thomas and his wife Andrea; nine grandchildren, Kylie, Steven, Sophia, Nicholas, Anthony, Harrison, Marina, Elliot Thomas and Justine Bernier and her husband Robert Jr. She also leaves a great granddaughter Hazel Bernier.
Katherine was predeceased by her siblings, Albert and Joseph Nikosey.
Relatives and friends are invited to Katherine’s visitation on Tuesday January 23rd at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch Street Worcester from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Her Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, January 24th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Worcester at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
