Mary J. Hurley of South Boston, died peacefully on January 12, 2024. She was 94.
Mary was born on December 30, 1929 to Clifford and Bridget Swain. She was one of six children growing up in South Boston.
Mary is also survived by her daughters: Jean Carter and her husband Paul, Denise Carr and her husband William, Mia Gallagher and her husband Michael, Diane Wolski and her husband Dan and her son Michael Hurley.
Mary always knew how to make people feel special and never held back her love. Devoted to her large family, she found tremendous joy in cooking for her family, celebrating birthdays and making others smile with a great sense of humor.
Mary is predeceased by her daughter Michelle Hurley.
Additionally, she will be missed by her 29 cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will take place in The Gate of Heaven Church, 615 East 4th Street South Boston, Saturday January 20 from 10-11:00 am. Followed by her funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
