Ronald F. Bernier, 84, of Chester, NH, passed away Wednesday January 17, 2024, in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. He was born on April 2, 1939 in Sanford, ME, a son of the late Rene and Jeannette (L'Heureux) Bernier. Ron proudly served his country in the US Air Force, retiring after 21 years of service. He later worked for General Electric as a machinist. He was actively involved with St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry for many years. For Ron, his family was always the most important part of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Rachel (Dumont) Bernier, three children, Michael Bernier and his wife Sherie, Daniel Bernier and his wife Leslie, and Patrice Barr and her husband Bruce; three grandchildren, Ethan Barr, Katie Bernier, and Kenneth Bernier; two great grandchildren; four Brothers, Robert Bernier, Raymond Bernier, Roy Bernier, and Ralph Bernier; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by two brothers Rene Bernier Jr and Richard Bernier.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial will be at a later date with Military Honors in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
