DUDLEY – Kenneth C. “Kenny” Bembenek, 72, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Anne E. (Cierpich) Bembenek; 2 daughters, Jennifer L. Visocchi and her husband Jason of Millville, and Katherynne “Kate” M. Bembenek and her partner Trisha Powers of Oxford; 3 granddaughters, Brooke “Izzy” Visocchi, Harper Visocchi and Ireland Powers; a brother, Richard Bembenek and his wife Norma of Arizona; 2 sisters, Patricia “Patty” Jezierski of N. Grosvenordale, CT and Mary Desmarais of South Carolina; many nephews and nieces. He also leaves his beloved cat and buddy Mr. Snuggles. He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Bembenek and by a sister Josephine A. “Jo-Ann” Canty.
He was born on July 5, 1951 in Webster and raised there, a son of Bruno J. and Helen E. (Richards) Bembenek. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1970 where he played on the varsity football team. He had lived in Dudley since 1979.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Bembenek was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Webster for 30 years before retiring in 2016.
He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church. He enjoyed spending time in his garden. He was a sports enthusiast for all New England Pro teams. His life revolved around his family, especially the grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 27, in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street (please meet at the church). The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide military honors at the church. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, January 26, in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. Donations in his name may be made to either Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., Dudley, MA 01571 or to the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council, 4 Veterans Way, Webster, MA 01570.
