Barbara Marie (Vacca)(Mangiacotti)Smith, 83, passed away peacefully at Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was the widow of Norman J. Smith, they shared over 15 years of marriage before he passed away.
She was born on July 27, 1940 in Somerville, MA. She grew up and was educated in Somerville. More recently she was a longtime resident of Lowell. She loved cooking, baking, and sewing. She cherished the time spent with her children, she was always with them, taking them on trips when they were growing up, and always there for them. She worked in the office at O'Connor Hardware in Billerica for over 30 years.
She leaves her daughter Denise Kelley and her husband Shawn of Lowell, her sister Pat Pelletier and her husband DIck of Coupeville, WA, and her brother Herbie Vacca of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by by her 10 grandchildren, and her 2 great grandhildren, and one more on the way in May, as well as many neices, nephews and friends.
She was the mother of the late Donna Mangiacotti she passed away in 2015.
