Obituary









Donald A. “Don” Calareso of Winchester passed away Friday, January 12th at Brigham & Women's Hospital - Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. He was 87. Don was the son of the late John and Florence (DiCicco) Calareso.

A native of Medford, Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a member of the class of 1954 of Medford High School. He had an extensive career as a commercial real estate developer. Don also owned the well-known Symmes Mini Mart on Mass. Ave. in Arlington, a place where customers felt welcomed and remembered. He treasured time spent with his family and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Judy, especially to Aruba.

Don was the beloved husband of Judith "Judy" (Laham) Calareso. He was the devoted father of Lisa Calareso and her husband James Scott Fraser of Medford, and of Lauren Calareso -Radigan and her husband Kevin of Ridgefield, CT. He was the loving “Grampy” of Mark and Abbe Radigan. He was the devoted brother of John Calareso of Falmouth (formerly of Arlington) and of his brother-in- law, Raymond Laham and his wife Beth of California.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, January 23rd from 4-7 PM, concluding with a prayer service. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Don’s name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
