Lurline (Holck) Haugen, 87, of Needham, died on July 4, 2006 at Cape Cod Nursing Home in Buzzards Bay following a period of declining health. Born in Boston on January 3, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Carl B.J. Holck and Anna (Danielsson) Holck Keller Hultgren. She was happily married for 55 years to the late Karl T. Haugen. Lurline graduated from Somerville High School and Chandler Secretarial School, and worked for Carter Ink Company and Boston Gas Company prior to her marriage.
A Needham resident since 1951, she was an active member in the New Century Club, The Needham Garden Club, The First Baptist Church of Needham, Order of Eastern Star Wysteria Chapter No. 138 of Needham, and the Glover Hospital Aide Association, as well as the Viking Club of Boston and the Swedish-American Council of Boston.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Haugen, of Mattapoisett, and her son Peter Haugen and his wife Loretta of Osterville. A Funeral Service will be held at The First Baptist Church in Needham, 858 Great Plain Avenue, on Saturday July 8 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment private.
