Laconia — Richard H. Harvey, 80, died Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Belknap County Nursing Home after a period of declining health.
He was born in Plymouth, NH, the son of Edwin and Irene (Suffil) Harvey. He served in the US Army and following discharge settled in Connecticut.
Prior to retirement, Richard worked for the Bic Corporation and the Northwood School Department. His passions were cooking and playing golf with grandsons Stephen and Sydney. He enjoyed golfing in leagues in Gilford during the summer and Florida during the winters.
Family members include his companion of 17 years, Joann Price of Laconia; his daughters, Kristin Harvey of CT and Kimberly Redmond of GA; sisters, Gail Hockenberry of CA and Sherry Curtis of Franklin. He was predeceased by his son Richard Harvey and brother David Harvey. He was proud to be called Grandpa Rich by Joann’s seven grandchildren: Morgan & Isabella Price, Zachary & Emily Stewart, Stephen Wojcik, and Jillian & Sydney Price.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on, Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Union Cemetery, Academy St., Laconia.
