Obituary

METHUEN - Steven J. 'Buck' Bucknam, 60, of Methuen, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his home. Born in Boston on January 15, 1963, he was the son of the late Albert D. Bucknam, Jr., and the late Carol Ann (Huggan) Bucknam. He was raised in Tewksbury, graduating from Tewksbury High School before pursuing studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell Campus.

His friends would say Steve was a very loving person with a heart of gold who was exceedingly kind. He was a funny guy; you couldn't help but laugh when you spoke with Steve.

He dedicated his career to working as an independent contractor in environmental services. An enthusiastic supporter of the New England sports teams, Steven actively played sports in his younger years, particularly enjoying hockey, baseball, football, and basketball. His lifelong passion was to attend games of his favorite teams and would often be at Fenway Park and Boston Garden. Known as a great guy, he was a joy to be around, easy to get along with, and always ready to share a good laugh.

Buck is survived by his daughter, Grace Putnam of Hull, MA; his granddaughter, Harper, his brother David P. Bucknam and his wife, Susan (Halamoutis) of Port St. Lucie, FL; her nieces, Nicole of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Brittany of Naples, FL; and many cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephews, the late Michael Bucknam, and the late Matthew Bucknam.
