Rebecca Doris Akins Howard, 66, of Duluth, formally of Tifton, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at Emory Hospital at Johns Creek. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Kenny Kicklighter will officiate. Mrs. Howard will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born December 3, 1957, in Tifton, Ms. Howard was the daughter of the late Troy Lee Akins and Florence Connell Akins. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Michael Akins; and two sisters, Rosemary Sizemore and Sandra Harper. She was a software and computer analyst and the owner of R. H. Consulting. She was a teacher and guardian and loved nature trips. Her family was the most important thing to her.
Ms. Howard is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Howard of Duluth and Christopher and Sandee Howard of Nashville; one sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Lamar Frazier of Tifton; five grandchildren, Krista Howard, Troy Michael Howard, Gabriel Ferguson, Hannah Ferguson and Luke Howard; and many great-grandchildren.
