Teresa (LoBuono) Poli of Medford, age 84, passed away on Sunday, January 14th, at Winchester Hospital. Born and raised in Palermo, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Antonina (Sbacchis) LoBuono. After immigrating to the U.S., Teresa lived first in Boston’s North End before moving to Somerville, then settling in Medford in 1967 where she spent the rest of her life. Teresa was employed for many years as a seamstress. She attended the Medford Senior Center and enjoyed playing BINGO, as well as going to the casino. Teresa loved to cook, and was a hard worker. When her husband became ill, she was the bread-winner for her family.
Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Sebastiano Poli who passed in 1995, and the devoted mother of Maria Moran and her husband Michael of Wilmington, Salvatore Poli and his wife Linda of Tewksbury, Vincent Poli and his wife Diane of Wilmington, John Poli and his wife Josephine of Medford, and Antonina Clarke and her husband Jeffrey of Salem, New Hampshire. She was the loving grandmother of Shawn and Brian Moran, Joey, Vinnie and Nicholas Poli, John Poli, Jr., and Andrew and Gabriella Clarke. Teresa was the dear sister of Antonina Cozzo and her late husband Casper, Lina Cozzo and her husband Joseph, the late Franco LoBuono and his late wife Rose, and the late Paulo LoBuono and his surviving wife Josephine. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to visit in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, January 19th from 9 through 11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
