GILFORD ---- Richard “Dick” Ottavio DeVivo, 89, of Belknap Mountain Road, died on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Concord Hospital – Laconia.
Richard was born on July 31, 1934, in Everett, MA, the son of the late Ottavio DeVivo and Alyce (Thurston) DeVivo.
He attended Everett schools and Wentworth Institute.
He and his wife, Lynne, lived in Tewksbury and Chelmsford, MA, prior moving to Gilford, NH, in 1980. Always active in building construction, he was co-owner with his brother of Bristol Building Corp and later owned Drafting Specialties in Gilford. With Bristol Building Corp., he saw the construct of numerous residential and commercial building projects in the Newfound Lake area.
Dick came to Newfound Lake with his family as summer residents in his teenage years. His love for the lake was cemented at that time. Over the years, he relished time spent at their lake house with family and friends.
Having a passion for fly fishing, he enjoyed many fishing adventures with his two sons and/or friends. He was an active member of the Gilford Community Church choir and loved barbershop harmony and classical music. He regularly exercised at the Community Wellness Center in Laconia, NH, was a founding board member and continued to serve on its board for many years.
His deep love for his family was felt by all. He leaves behind his wife, Lynne, of 59 years, his son Peter R.(Nancy) of Belmont, granddaughters Reese and Gabrielle Guyer, and son Gregory M. (Kelly) of Mesa, Arizona, granddaughter Ava, his brothers and best friends, Darryl C. DeVivo, M.D., (Alicia) of Key Biscayne, FL, David. T. DeVivo(Judy) of Pittsford, NY, and Gerald P. DeVivo (Beth) of Gilford, NH, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no Calling Hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Road, Gilford, NH.
Interment will be held at a later date.
