WEBSTER – Lucille E. (Allard) Pikora, 98, died Friday, January 12, 2024 in UMass/Memorial Health – Harrington Hospital, Southbridge after a period of declining health. Her husband of 36 years, Peter P. Pikora, died in 1983.
She leaves a daughter, Cheryl A. Pikora and her husband Dick Harmon of North Brookfield; a son, Paul J. Pikora and his wife Mary of Putnam, CT; 2 sisters, Constance Chenard and Letha Cacciapouti, both of Webster; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harvey A. Allard, Jr. and Harold T. Allard and by 2 sisters, Anita Socha and Shirley Arel.
She was born in Webster on December 26, 1925, a daughter of Harvey A. Allard, Sr. and Anna (Breault) Allard and grew up there. She moved to Dudley in 1946 and back to Webster a few years ago.
Mrs. Pikora worked as a lens inspector at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for 30 years. She retired in 1984.
She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church in Dudley. She was a longtime member of the Webster Senior Center and its Silver Dippers.
She cherished family gatherings, especially at Thanksgiving and on Christmas Eve. During summer vacation, the family would spend a week or two camping at a state park in Vermont or New Hampshire or Maine. Her outgoing personality and positive attitude made instant friends with the people she met. She loved living at Christopher Heights and had constant visits from the residents and the staff.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 16, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street, Dudley. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:20 AM Tuesday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
