Mary H. (Silva) Silva
Chelmsford - Mary H. (Silva) Silva, 84, passed away on January 10, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital, succumbing to complications from Dementia and Diabetes. She was the devoted widow of Eliseu S. Silva, who preceded her in death in 2018, marking the end of their remarkable 59-year marriage.
Born on December 14, 1939, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Antonio Silva and the late Mary Santos. Her journey brought her to the United States at the age of 13, where she settled in Lowell with her family.
Mary dedicated 17 years of her life to Raytheon, contributing significantly until her well-deserved retirement. Prior to that, she spent 22 years at Grace Shoe, showcasing her strong work ethic and commitment.
A resident of Chelmsford since 1980, Mary was an active communicant of Saint Anthony's Church in Lowell. She had a passion for shopping and delighted in spending time at the mall. Mary also found joy in traveling with her late husband and basking in the beauty of the beach.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her four children: Marylou Roy and her husband Richard of Pelham, Edward Silva and his wife Laurie of Pepperell, Eliseu Silva Jr. of Dracut, and Steve Silva and his wife Faith of Townsend. Her memory is further cherished by five grandchildren: Jessica Lonergan and her husband Harry, Sarah Stec and her husband Amia, Zachary Silva and his wife Danielle, Amanda Silva, and James Silva and his wife Taylor. Additionally, she is survived by three great-grandchildren: Jackson Silva, Jocelyn Lonergan, and Liam Lonergan.
Mary's warm and caring spirit extended beyond her immediate family, reaching nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Rosette and brother Manuel Silva.
You are welcome to attend her calling hours from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday January 19, 2024 at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816.
