OXFORD – Paul J. Cyr, 73, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in UMass/Memorial University Campus after a period of declining health.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Marilyn A. (Kus) Cyr; 3 children, Christopher P. Cyr and his wife Kerri of Harrisburg, NC, Matthew J. Cyr of Lakeland, FL, and Catherine A. Howe and her husband Gary of Riverview, FL; 7 grandchildren, Ashly Tetreault and her husband Alex, Victoria Cyr, Jacob Howe, Joshua Howe, Lucas Howe, Olivia Cyr and Lillian Howe; a great-grandson Ronald; 2 brothers, Thomas Cyr and his wife Carol, and Ronald Cyr, all of Webster; a sister, Cynthia L’Heureux and her husband Freddie of Thompson, CT; and several nephews and nieces. He also leaves behind his beloved black lab Tucker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Cyr, Jr. and a sister, Linda Desrosiers.
He was born on April 15, 1950 in Webster, the son of Harold Cyr, Sr. and Priscilla (Barrette) Cyr and attended Saint Louis High School until his junior year, graduating from Bartlett High School in 1970. At Saint Louis High, he played basketball and soccer. He then completed post-graduate studies in printing at Worcester Trade Boys School. He moved to Oxford 46 years ago.
Mr. Cyr was a printer by trade and worked at several establishments including Clark University and Memorial Hospital in Worcester. He retired from Deluxe Printing in Townsend. He was currently a monitor for Van Pool Transportation.
He was a member of Saint Roch’s Parish. He loved his labrador dogs. His family was his treasure.
The funeral will be held Friday, January 19, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf and Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 in Saint Roch’s Church, 334 Main Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:15 Friday morning in the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
