John F. Lynch, 92 of Whitman Massachusetts, formerly of Dorchester, died on January 10th, at Alliance Healthcare in Braintree.
Son of Jeremiah and Sheila (Long) Lynch, brother of Sheila Hicks of Whitman, brother of the late Mary I. Kelly, Kevin Lynch, and Kenneth Lynch. Brother-in-law and dear friend to the late John D. Hicks of Whitman and Uncle of his beloved late niece, Kathleen M. Frank. Brother-in-law to Edmund F. Kelly of Braintree. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
John was a devout Catholic who was a communicant of Holy Ghost Parish in Whitman. He was a devoted brother, Uncle and great Uncle and always held himself to high moral standards.
John was resilient, smart, and extremely knowledgeable on an array of subjects. He loved reading books (History being his favorite), and in his later years after losing his vision, he would Pray the Rosary daily on his iPad. John was a simple man with little wants of all the material things that surround us - he was happiest at home surrounded by his family and especially his beloved sister Sheila who cared for him throughout his life.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Parish, 518 Washington Street, Whitman on Wednesday, January 17 at 10:30 am.
