James B. Sargent, 69, of Fairhaven passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital, after a long illness with COPD.
Born in New Bedford, he was son of the late William E. and Muriel D. (Marcotte) Sargent. Prior to retirement, he worked for the New Bedford Public School System as a teacher's aide. Mr. Sargent enjoyed restoring and selling cars. He loved his pet cat Angel and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a devoted son to his mother.
Survivors include 6 siblings: Diane Braley of Acushnet, Jane DeRego of Fairhaven, William E. Sargent, Jr. of MD, Ralph R. Sargent of New Bedford, Norman Sargent of Fairhaven and Janet Smith of New Bedford; several nieces and nephews; and 3 great nephews.
He was brother of the late Margaret "Peggy" DeTerra.
