Dorothy A. "Dolly" Conroy, 90, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Michael Conroy.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Costa) Hodge, she lived in Little Compton most of her life before moving to New Bedford.
Dorothy worked for the New Bedford City Clerk's office for many years.
Dolly enjoyed going to horse shows, riding horses, dancing, doing crossword puzzles, reading, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a big time Red Sox and Patriots fan. She was known as Gamma to all her grandchildren and their friends. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Reardon and Cynthia Braley and her husband Allen; her grandchildren, Ryan Braley, Katie Braley, and Jake Hebert and his fiancée Renee Perkins; her great grandchildren, Austin, Jaiden, Harper, and Marley; many nieces and cousins; her beloved pet Charlie, as well as her good friends Linda, Pastor Larry and Cookie.
She is predeceased by her sister Margaret Mello, brothers William and Robert Hodge, son-in-law Jerry Reardon, and grandson Randy Parker.
The family would like to thank the Century 4 nurses, doctors, medical staff and hospice care staff for all their support, love and compassion during this difficult time.
Dorothy's Funeral will be held Tuesday, January 16th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford with her Funeral Mass being held at St. Julie Billiart Parish at 10 AM and burial to follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 3-6 PM.
