Obituary

Thomas “Tommy” Joseph Dacey, 67, of Raynham formerly of Franklin died January 10 in Morton Hospital, Taunton, peacefully following a long illness.

Born in Quincy, February 8, 1956, the son of the late James P. and Mary F. (Morrissey) Dacey, Tommy was raised and lived in Franklin before moving to Raynham in 2020.

Tommy attended the Saint Colletta School in Hanover and graduated from Keefe Technical High School in Framingham.

Tommy worked for many years at the family grocery store, Dacey’s Market, on Lincoln Street. He was a member of the Active Day Program of Taunton and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Tommy enjoyed watching TV, bowling, going to his dances and being a practical joker.

He is survived by his siblings, James P. Dacey and his wife Carol of Franklin, Kathleen Kolczynski and her husband Phillip of Medford, Oregon and John M. Dacey and his wife Kathleen of Raynham.

He is also survived by his nine nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Monday, January 15 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, January 14 from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the National Down Syndrome Society, 1155 15th St. NW. Washington, DC. 20005.
