Obituary

James J. “Jim” Gardner 65, of Blackstone, passed away peacefully, at his home with family at his side Sunday January 7, 2024, following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Janet M. (Gorman) Gardner, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

Born July 27, 1958, in Norwood a son of the late Kenneth C. & Jean (Fogarty) Gardner, he was a former resident of Franklin and Foxborough, until moving to Blackstone.

He was raised and educated in Franklin, was a graduate of Franklin High School and before his illness forced him to retire, he was working as a truck driver for D&D Mulch & Landscape, a job he loved along with the people he worked with.

Jim enjoyed the races at Seeking Speedway, the outdoors, ATV’s, and tinkering on cars and boats.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph J. Gardner of Blackstone, sisters, Florence Murphy, Laura Palmieri and his cherished granddaughter, Jasmine M. Gardner.

He was the father of the late James J. Gardner and brother of the late Lila Coyle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Saturday January 20th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin from 1-3PM.

His funeral service and interment will be held privately.
