Daniel Michael Shea, a lifelong resident of South Boston, entered eternal life suddenly at his home in South Boston on Friday, January 5, 2024. He was 60 years of age.
Dan was born in Boston on December 17, 1963, a son to Marianne (Manning) Vangel and the late Paul J. Shea. He is predeceased by his stepfather, Victor Vangel. He is the husband of the late wife Diane (Forte) Shea. He is the father of Andrew Shea (Boston EMS) and his fiancé Katie Prisco of East Boston, Danny Shea of Dallas, Texas and his stepdaughter Julia Forte of Taunton. He is the grandfather of Adeline Peters of Ludlow, Vermont. He is the brother of Denise Palmieri and her husband David of Spring Lake, North Carolina. He is the uncle to Michael Palmieri of Brockton, Jenny Lightman and her husband Erick of Spring Lake, North Carolina. He is also survived by his two great nieces, Stephanie and Ellie Lightman of Spring Lake, North Carolina. He is the former husband of Peggy (Duffy) Shea.
Dan worked for several years at Hood Milk in Charlestown, Interstate Distributors in Quincy, Reebok in Avon, and later at the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Needham, MA. He was known to be an extremely hard worker. Dan was an avid Boston Sports fan, who loved watching the Boston Bruins. He adored his dog, Callie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dan's visiting hours Saturday morning, January 20, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, MA. His burial will be private.
