James Franklin Tracy
James Franklin Tracy died on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 after courageously battling cancer and various medical issues.
Jim was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Born in Huron, South Dakota October 11, 1947, moved to Ventura in 1951. He attended Ventura High School, graduating in 1965. Jim proudly served his country in Vietnam 1967-1968 during the Tet Offensive, was in field artillery, making the rank of Sergeant and earned the Bronze Star Medal.
Jim had many hobbies, including shooting pool at Jacks Pool Hall, softball, golf and bowling. His favorite pastime was gardening, growing flowers, vegetables, and of course, his famous tomatoes. Jim also enjoyed making various food dishes for his many friends at his home away from home, The Bench Warmer.
Jim met and married the love of his life and soul mate, Marian Blecha in 1969. They were married 54 years, and Larry said it wouldn't last. Jim was a house painter by trade. He worked for his Uncle, Clinton J. Tracy Painting with his Dad. He formed a business with his brother, Mark, aptly named Tracy Brothers Painting, starting in 1994 until 2016.
Jim is survived by his Loving Wife Marian (Lupe), Son William (Billy), brothers and sisters, Cheri Cignetti, Mark Tracy, Nancy Gainer (Brian), Michael Gainer (Michele), Jackie (Tom) Crowe, Bob (Patricia) Tracy, Brenda (Cary) Starek, Rick (Sherise) Tracy. Sister-in-Law Linda (Gary) Braynard, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by son, Jimmy Tracy, parents Frank & Betty Tracy, father & mother-in-law Frank & May Blecha.
We miss Jim now, and will forever. With all our Love, Rest in Peace Jim.
