Lilia Ulkhanova, 91 of Lowell, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the widow of the late Vartguez S. Petrossian, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage before he passed away in 2006.
She was born in Baku, Azerbaijan on January 13, 1932 and was a daughter of the late Ismail Ulkhanov, and the late Anisia Prokina. She relocated to the United States in 1996 with her family.
A lover of the arts, Lilia enjoyed singing and dancing, expressing herself through the beauty of music. Her culinary skills were a source of delight for friends and family, as she generously shared her love through the meals she prepared. Her compassion extended beyond people, as she had a deep affection for animals. She found solace in feeding the ducks, a pastime that brought her closer to nature.
Lilia is survived by her two daughters, Irina Petrossian of Lowell, and Alina Petrossian of France; her two granddaughters, Naina Avanesova and Anna Petrossian; and her three great grandchildren, Matteo, Kyle and Giovanni.
On Tuesday, January 16, 2024 all are welcome to attend her visitation from 11 a.m.-12 noon at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell. Her funeral procession will form after the visitation and follow to Westlawn II Cemetery for burial.
