CHICOPEE – Donna M. (Belisle) Godere, 78, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on July 15, 1945, a beloved daughter of the late Arthur V. and Julia (Spada) Belisle. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Cathedral High School and lived in Chicopee her entire life. She was employed for many years in the Classified Advertising Department at the Springfield Republican. She was a longtime communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She enjoyed going to craft shows, trying her luck in the casinos, and on-line shopping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Donna will be watching from the Eternal Kingdom the birth of her upcoming great grandson. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Stanley G. Godere. They were married at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee on May 8, 1965 and were blessed with over 58 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving and devoted children, Tracy A. Pouliot and her husband, Jeffrey, of Holyoke, Jeffrey A. Godere and his wife, Audrey, of Chicopee and Tara M. Godere and her partner, Kirk Raymond, of Chicopee; her three cherished grandchildren, Lauren A. Pouliot and her partner, Kevin Tolle, Chelsea T. Crespo and her husband, Ryan, and Victoria S. Godere and her partner, John Serrano; her cherished great granddaughter, Serena Serrano; her 101 year old aunt, Mary Zarcaro of Agawam; her three cherished step grandchildren, Taylor Pouliot, Autumn Ishler and William Ishler; and her many dear cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Donald Belisle. Her Funeral will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
