Obituary

Philip J. Nadeau Jr., of Hooksett, NH passed away January 6, 2024 at Elliot Hospital, in Manchester, following a brief illness.
He was born in Dover, NH on September 29, 1953 the son of Julia (George) Nadeau and Philip J. Nadeau Sr.
He attended Mrs. Carberry's Kindergarten, was educated at St. Mary’s Academy and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, all in Dover. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Management & Marketing from the University of New Hampshire, then earned his MBA in Accounting & Finance from Southern New Hampshire University.
During his business career he worked in local as well as international manufacturing and distribution.
He was currently working for the New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services for federal audit oversight, contract process and policy development, finance, compliance and audit.
Phil was an avid skier. He and his closest friend, Buzz Dietterle, lived close enough to Dover's Garrison Hill Park, and they would ski home at the end of the day. They would take trips together through their 20’s to various mountains throughout the state. As an
adult, Phil would bring his family on vacations to Bretton Woods to teach his children to ski.
As a child Phil loved model airplanes and cars. As an adult he enjoyed that passion through his computer. He would simulate racing the cars he grew up building, and the flights he or his children had taken in their travels. He would also take time gaming with his children and would visit Blockbuster every Friday for movie nights and game rentals.
Phil had a strong passion for music, enjoying a wide variety of artists from Ray Charles to Jim Croce. He would often attend blues and jazz festivals in Montreal. He could play the piano by ear, much to the delight of his children and grandchildren.
His laugh was infectious, and he told great stories about time with family and friends.
Whether it was Little League or adult "beer" league, his children always saw him there, rooting them on.
His family includes: two sons, Philip J. “Chip” Nadeau III and his wife, Jina, of Hudson, and Jeffrey Nadeau, of Hooksett; one daughter, Jennifer Nadeau-Abdulkadir and her husband, Awess, of Hooksett; two grandchildren, Paige and Wes, all of Hooksett; one brother, Peter Nadeau and his wife Irene of Manchester; one niece, Amanda Nadeau–Guillot; and one brother-in-law; Richard Comeau.
He was predeceased by a sister, Judith Comeau.
