Kathleen D. Wahl
Retired Green Meadows School Teacher
TEWKSBURY: Kathleen D. (DeLuca) Wahl, age 74, a resident of Tewksbury for 45 years, formerly of Wilmington, passed away at home in the care of her family and hospice on Thursday, January 4, 2024.
She was the beloved wife of Roy E. Wahl, with whom she celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 6, 2023.
Born in Winchester on July 1, 1949, she was the daughter of Margaret (Russo) DeLuca, of Woburn and the late Ralph DeLuca.
Kathleen was raised in Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School. She later returned to school to receive her teaching certification.
Prior to retiring, Kathleen was a much-loved member of the faculty at the Green Meadows School located in Tewksbury at the Tewksbury Congregational Church.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and projects, especially crocheting baby blankets for her loved ones.
Kathleen and her husband loved visiting the beach in York, Maine as well as Disney World in Florida.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her children, Jeffrey M. Wahl and his wife Kristin, of Tewksbury, Brian M. Wahl and his wife Kiki, of Brentwood, NH, Mark J. Wahl and his wife Liz, of Santa Ana, CA and Kristen M. Wybieralla and her husband Michael, of Durham, NC: her grandchildren, Juliana Wahl, Caitlin Wahl, Olivia Wahl, Alex Wahl, and Grace Wybieralla: her brother, Joseph DeLuca and his late wife Janice, of Wilmington.
Calling hours are Thursday, January 11th, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. A Remembrance Service will be held Friday, January 12th, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org, the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at komen.org
