Virgenia “Elaine” (Gagner) Martin passed away 12/29/23 from cancer. She was born on August 22, 1950 in Prosser WA to LeRoy and Leona Gagner. She went to be with the Lord after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
She was the wife of John Martin, whom she has been married to for 40 years, she was the mother of Lance Skarbo, Alicia Fox and Scott Martin and later adopted her grandboys, Justin and Tyler Holst. She was the proud grandmother of Stephanie Huston (Henry), Tiffanie Fox, Lance Q Skarbo and Chase Skarbo, and great grandmother of Hunter, Nathan and Phoebe. She also was the oldest of 7 siblings, Ray Gagner, Randy Gagner, Valeria DeLeon, Pam Jahnke, Cherlyn Beltran and Eric Gagner and she will be missed deeply by all.
Elaine resided in Anchorage Alaska with her spouse for 29.5 years and had many friends from her work in the mortgage industry. Elaine and family relocated to Prosser, Washington after recovering from cancer the first time. She was active in taking care of her parents and extended family in Prosser, and they all relied on her.
Elaine had quite a few loves in her life, traveling (traveling buddy, Val), going to the beach, reading or listening to audio books and camping. One of her favorite places to camp was Black Beach Resort, Washington where she found a place that was very comforting to her. She loved to play cards with her extended family and playing Bingo with her friends. She never met anybody who wasn’t a friend and shared the family gift of gab. She was devoted to her family. One of things that she really worked hard on was being positive.
Viewing will be at Prosser Funeral Home on Friday, January 12 from 10:00-11:30.Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, also on Friday, beginning at 12:00. with the Recitation of The Rosary beginning at 12:00. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
