George “Bob” Farren of Stoneham passed away on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, at the age of 77. Bob entered eternal rest surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Somerville, MA. He and his wife Georgette raised their family in Medford before moving to Stoneham in retirement, residing there for the past 23 years. Bob was employed at Tufts University as a pipefitter and was a member of SEIU Local 254. He and his wife, Georgette were avid recreational campers and spent more than 45 summers at Pine Acres Family Campground in Raymond, NH. Bob was devoted to his late wife and spent many hours visiting her at their eternal resting place longing for the day they could be reunited for everlasting love and bliss. During his retirement, he enjoyed sitting on his steps, talking to neighbors, and puttering around his yard. He loved spending time with his family, socializing during Sunday get-togethers, drinking coffee, and always had a pocket full of dog treats for his sidekick, Jordan.
Bob was the cherished son of the late Edward and Eileen Farren. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Georgette Farren and daughter-in-law Julie Ames Farren. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Plourde and her husband Paul, of Middleton, and his son Bob Farren, of Stoneham. Bob was the loving Papa to Stephanie, Eric, Bobby, and Amanda.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Bob’s family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, January 11th from 4 to 8 PM. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held in the funeral home on Friday, January 12th, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
