FISKDALE - James B. Stanley, 64, passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, 2024 in Southbridge Rehab & Healthcare Center, Southbridge, after a period of declining health.
He leaves a sister, Donna Lynn of Stafford Springs, CT; his longtime high school sweetheart, Kathy Jewell of Fiskdale; nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his twin brother William “Billy” Stanley and by his sister Kim Kingsbury.
He was born on June 12, 1959 in Worcester, the son of William Stanley, Jr. and Joan (Paquette) Stanley. He lived in Dudley for a number of years before moving to the Fiskdale area of Sturbridge 19 years ago. He graduated from Shepherd Hill Regional High School in 1978.
Mr. Stanley worked in his father’s paving business for many years.
Jimmy loved photography, visiting the ocean, and collecting gadgets. Some of his photos were published in the Boston Globe. He was a talented and lovable man who left behind incredible stories and memories with loved ones as well as his bronze medal from the International Special Olympics. He spent a lot of time at Cumberland Farms in Sturbridge. His passion and knowledge of music will be remembered as well.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 10:00 to noon on Wednesday, January 17, in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a time of remembrance beginning at 11:30 AM.
