Shirley A. (Deslauriers) Sawyer, age 89, passed away on January 3, 2024 at Noble Hospital in Westfield. She was born on September 26, 1934 in Chicopee and has been a lifelong resident. Shirley was a communicant of St Rose de Lima parish. She was a graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1953. Shirley worked at Spaulding’s and later as an Instructional Media Tech for Stefanik School for over 32 years before she retired. She loved to knit and read. She is predeceased by her husband Raymond J. Sawyer Sr., who passed away in 2007. She is also predeceased by her son John Sawyer and siblings Lionel Deslauriers and Claire Fournier. She leaves her son Raymond Sawyer of Wethersfield, CT and Richard Sawyer and his wife Deborah of Chicopee; her daughter Nancy Densmore and her husband David of Chicopee; her daughter-in-law Patricia Sawyer of Suffield; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy, Renee, Brad, Matthew, Christina, Brian and Rebekah along with 6 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11:30 AM in St Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St, Chicopee followed by burial in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
