Benedette J. (Marinelli) McCloud, age 91, of Medford passed away on Monday, January 1st, at Holy Family Hospital of Haverhill. Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Bonafine) Marinelli. Benedette lived for several years in Winchester during her teens. After marrying, she returned to Medford where she worked as a librarian.
Benedette was an avid reader, and took up oil painting in her 50’s. She was devoted to her family, and was a loving “Nana” to her grandchildren and great grandson. Benedette was very devoted to her husband, was caring but strong when she needed to be, and had a wonderful, dry sense of humor.
Benedette was the beloved wife of the late Alexander McCloud, and the devoted mother of Scott McCloud of Haverhill and his partner Renee, and Glenn McCloud of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Ryan McCloud of Bridgton, ME, and Jason McCloud of Medford. Benedette was the adoring great grandmother of Wesley Alexander McCloud and the dear sister of Roberta Jupin and her son Seth of Ohio. She is also survived by her cherished daughter-in-law Karen McCloud.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 9th from 10 AM through 12:30 PM followed by a service in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
