Paul Normand Roy, 82, passed away on December 30, 2023. He was born on May 11, 1941, in Lowell, MA, son of the late Adelard N. Roy and Fernande M. (Foisy) Roy. Although Paul moved to Port Saint Lucie, FL for retirement, he always called Chicopee home. This was where he proudly raised his family, worked as a box maker/manager for St. Joe’s Paper Company and Commonwealth Packaging, attended St. Anne’s Parish, and founded the Clover Leaf Square Dance Club where he was caller for 19 years. Paul had an intense love for his family. Paul is predeceased by his wife Jacqueline M. (Bienvenue) Roy. He is the beloved father and father-in-law of Diane & Michael Szulc, Normand & Karyn Roy, Michele & David Lambert, and James & Lynda Roy. Pepere will be missed by his 10 wonderful grandchildren, Jessica, Amy, Rebecca, Daniel, Erica, Amanda, Sebastian, Paul (Kaz), Rachel, and Calvin, and his 7 great-grandchildren. Paul is survived by his brothers Raymond Roy and Roland Roy, and his wife Pauline. He is predeceased by his sister, Mona Yagovane. Paul had a quick wit, loved to laugh, and thoroughly enjoyed a good prank either on or by his children and grandchildren. Paul loved to sing and enjoyed playing cribbage with his family and friends, many of whom he taught to play (and his grandchildren even learned to cheat from him!). His family finds comfort knowing that he will only be dealt perfect 29 hands from here on out, and when you think of Paul, we hope you are having a “classic dozen” kind of day where the five is everybody’s friend! Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St., Chicopee. Funeral will be held on Monday, January 8 from 9:30 – 10:30AM at the Funeral Home, followed by an in-house Prayer Service at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
