Obituary

Mary C. (Alletag) Bellotti, 104, of Rochester, formerly of New Bedford, died Wednesday, January 3, 2024 peacefully at WestView on Main. She was the wife of the late Louis J. Bellotti, her high school sweetheart with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Eugene and Jane (Waring) Alletag, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

Mrs. Bellotti was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Bedford.

She was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational School where she designed the school seal during her senior year.

Mrs. Bellotti was employed as a textile designer at Normandy Bedspreads for many years until her retirement.

She was a member of the Couples Club and Senior Club at St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of the Couples Club at St. John the Baptist Church. She was also a volunteer at Market Ministries and bowled in a league at Bowl-Mor Lanes.

Mrs. Bellotti had recently received the Boston Post Cane in Rochester to signify that she was the oldest living resident.

She adored her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Marie Crompton, and Susan Silva and her partner Charles Drayton; 4 grandchildren, Kim Heydt (Karl), Craig L. Crompton (Sarrah), Michelle Drayton (Charles, Jr.), and Angela English (David); 10 great-grandchildren, Courtney Crompton (Justin), Cailyn Cardoza (Ethan), Craig J. Crompton, Cameron Alves (Skye), Hannah Alves (Alyssa), Alex English (Amanda), Zachary English (Sabrina), Nolin Heydt (Carina), Jianna Heydt (Rebecca), and Logan Heydt (Eliza); 7 great-great-grandchildren, Ava, Justin, Isabella, Mason, Asher, Mia, and Maeve; her niece, Elaine Lambert; and her nephew, Jack Bellotti.

She was predeceased by her sons-in-law, Jack Crompton and Butch Silva.

Mrs. Bellotti's family would like to thank the staff at Westview on Main and Southcoast VNA Hospice for the compassionate care provided to her, as well as her daughter Susan who helped care for her.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Bellotti's family asks that you perform an act of kindness in her memory.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 12:30 PM at St. John Neumann Church, East Freetown. Burial will be private.
