BUXTON- Winona “Skip” Margaret Gilbert, age 93, passed away at her home in Buxton on Monday Jan. 1, 2024.
She was born in Portland on Oct. 13, 1930, a daughter of the late Winfield and Hazel (Merry) Collins.
Skip was a member of LifeChurch in Gorham and Living Waters Church in Buxton.
Over the years she was employed in several manufacturing jobs.
She will always be remembered for her love of family and love of animals. She loved watching dog shows and bred & showed Basenji dogs.
Besides her parents, Winona is predeceased by a son- Vincent “Buzz” Palmer.
She is survived by her beloved husband- Arthur Gilbert of Buxton; children- Beverley Palmer and her husband Donald, Roger Palmer, Audrey Moore, and Gwendolyn Powers; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday Jan. 10th at 1 PM at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Congress St., in Portland.
