SACO- In loving memory of Linda "Lin" Christie-Powers, 62, of Saco, Maine, who peacefully passed away on December 26, 2023. Born on May 12, 1961, in New Britain, Connecticut, Lin was the cherished daughter of Fred and Anita Holmberg.
Lin's journey was one of remarkable diversity, spanning from factory work to the ownership of Sittin' Pretty Doggy Daycare and Grooming. Her commitment extended to New England Cancer Specialist, where she utilized her skills as a medical coder, leaving an indelible mark on the healthcare industry.
A formidable protector and animal lover, Lin's strength and tenderness defined her character. Her infectious smile and genuine laughter could illuminate any room. A true jack of all trades, Lin's versatility was boundless. From horseback cow-chasing to music pursuits, including guitar playing, singing, and songwriting, she embraced life's tapestry. Her other interests ranged from hunting to poolside relaxation and crocheting.
Lin's devotion to family, especially her grandsons was unparalleled. She found solace in studying the Bible, eagerly anticipating the promised resurrection for loved ones who have fallen asleep in death.
Lin is survived by her daughters, Alexandra (Shawn) Sanborn and Tegan Christie, her brother Kenneth (Deborah) Holmberg, her grandsons Spencer, Cole, Gadge, Christian and Joshua as well as numerous friends and family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anita Holmberg, brother Eric Holmberg, and daughter Rhiannon DeMaio.
Lin's profound impact as a resilient, compassionate, and gifted soul will forever be cherished by those privileged to have known her. May her legacy inspire strength, love, and fond memories in the hearts of family and friends.
