John Joseph Ferguson
October 25, 1937 - December 28, 2023
John Joseph Ferguson, a longtime resident of West Roxbury passed away suddenly on December 28, 2023, at the age of 86. Son of the late Charles and Mary (O'Hear) Ferguson. John leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Jean (Hachey) Ferguson and their four children, Michael Ferguson of Sandwich MA, Joanne and Kevin Comfort of Flemington, NJ, Marybeth and Paul Kelly of Mansfield MA, and Jennifer and Brian Donahue of Norton MA. Proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren, Jessica, Julianna, Shayne, Marykate, JJ, Jack, Kaitlyn, Derek, Jade, Emma, Dylan, Sam and Paige.
John was born in 1937 and was a graduate of the class of 1956 from Jamaica Plain High School. He was both class president and captain of his football and baseball teams.
He served in the U.S. Army after High School. After completing his service he received a business degree. He then became a proud member of Labors L.U./22. Later he worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Treasurer's Office followed by the Secretary of State's Office.
He loved watching sports, listening to music, talking politics and painting was a favorite hobby. Above all what he truly enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and thirteen amazing grandchildren.

Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, January 3rd at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre Street, West Roxbury at 11:00 A.M.
