Obituary

GILFORD ---- George "Ted" Edward Brixner III, 81, of Scenic Drive, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Forestview Manor.

Ted was born on October 11, 1942, in New Haven, CT, the son of the late George Edward Brixner Jr., and Mary Sheldon (Bradley) Brixner.

Ted grew up in Orange, West Port and Milford, Connecticut. He attended the University of New Haven graduating in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. That same year he married Barbara Jane Hughes in the Wildemere Beach Congregational Church, Milford, Connecticut. In 1969, Ted and Barbara moved to Peterborough, New Hampshire where Ted worked for New Hampshire Ball Bearings. The following February, in 1970, Ted transferred to the Astro Division of NHBB as a Cost Accountant where he worked until his retirement.

Ted enjoyed his summers at the family "Camp" on Lake Wentworth in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Among his hobbies was photography. His family is blessed with the story of his life with the many photo albums they retain and enjoy. Ted and Barbara enjoyed travel throughout their marriage and especially after retirement with bus travel and making many friends along the way. He was an avid reader of history with a special interest in Early American History and the Presidents.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Hughes Brixner; brother Paul Brixner and wife Joan; sister Jean Brixner Reilly and husband Pat; brother-in-law John Hughes and wife Terry Boni. Let us not forget his cat, Rosie! Also, many nieces and nephews, with some greats for good measure!

There will be no Calling Hours.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

Burial will follow the service at Pine Grove Cemetery, Belknap Mountain Road, Gilford, NH.

In lieu of flowers, one can make a memorial donation in Ted's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601, or a Charity of one's choice.
