Mr. Christopher L. Pirrello, a lifelong resident of Medford passed away at his home on Thursday evening, December 28, 2023. He was predeceased in death 12 hours earlier by his loving wife of 70 years, Connie. He was 97 years old.
Chris was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 5, 1926. Chris was the beloved son of the late Giuseppe and Josephine (Marisola) Pirrello. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He worked as a maintenance carpenter for H.P. Hood and Sons for many years. Chris worked as a woodworking instructor for the disabled at Triangle Training Center in Malden.
He enjoyed getting together with family and friends for card games or just to chat. He was an avid reader of any book he could get his hands on and read his bible from Genesis to Revelation. He was a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan and rarely missed watching a game on tv. Chris was an excellent card player and enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles. In his later years he could be found working on jigsaw puzzles on a daily basis. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving children; Mary Pirrello of Medford, Joseph and his wife Dorothy Pirrello of Groveland, Christine Jay of Wakefield and John Andrew, Sr. and his wife Lisa Pirrello of Cumming, Georgia, grandchildren; Katherine and her husband Craig Milligan, Christopher Pirrello, David Jay, Nicole and her husband Justin Antonio, John Andrew, Jr. and his wife Sarah Pirrello, Matthew and his wife Brittany Pirrello and Elizabeth and her husband DJ Bartels, great-grandchildren; Jeremy, Gianna, Benjamin, Charlotte and baby Bartels, siblings: Mary McKenna and her late husband Leo, Betty DePrimo and her husband George, Helen Sigouin and her late husband Moe, and many nieces, nephews. Chris was the brother of the late Philip and his late wife Mary Pirrello, Michael and his late wife May.
His Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Entombment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home of Medford.
