Marica (Manojlovic) Novak, 84, passed away on Friday December 22nd in the Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. She was the wife of the late Ivo I. Novak.
Born in Teslic, Croatia, she was the daughter of the late Komljen and Mika Manojlovic. She had lived in Johnston since 1978 and had previously lived in Buffalo, NY and Pittsburg, PA. Throughout her career, Marica worked as a Lab Technician at Miriam Hospital in Providence.
Marica always loved the outdoors and animals of all kinds. She enjoyed walking in the woods with friends at Stillwater, Heritage, and Deerfield Parks. She touched many lives this way. Marica also ventured farther, taking hiking and sightseeing trips in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, as well as the United States. In the winter, she enjoyed cross country skiing and walking in the snow. In summer, she had a weakness for ice cream, and liked to eat a cone while watching the sun setting on Waterman Lake. Marica often commented on how beautiful a sunset was, and that she liked to think of something beautiful before going to sleep each night.
She also played tennis and belonged to the Glocester and Lincoln Senior Centers where she enjoyed yoga and bone building. She particularly loved her dog Miki, and Maggie, a friendly donkey she’d met.
A Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday January 2nd at 11am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Her burial will be private.
