Obituary

Age 90, of Tewksbury (formerly of Burlington), passed away Dec. 27, 2023, after suffering a Stroke a month earlier.

She was born in Boston, MA in 1933. In her early years, she lived in Woburn MA before moving to Clinton, MA, where she graduated high school. She began further education at Suffolk University where she was one of the founders of their first woman’s basketball team, before leaving for full time work.

June settled in Burlington and later moved to a development in the neighboring town of Tewksbury. She was a loving mother who was very supportive of her children and grandchildren. She worked part time as a substitute teacher and at financial institutions. She was also very involved in local and national politics, founder of the Burlington High School PTSO, and heavily involved in more than a dozen committee’s centering around education, church, politics, and athletics.

She was pre-deceased by her loving husband William E Alcott and sister Maureen Halpern. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving family, children, William J. and his wife Gail of Andover, twins Jane and John of Lowell, and 3 adored grandchildren, Billy F., Jillian, and Erin, along with many close friends.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Jan. 3rd, 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, to be followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. Donations in June’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 42, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
