CHICOPEE – Stella P. (Ciesluk) Doray, 93, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, December 29, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at her son’s home in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on North Main Street in Chicopee on April 17, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late Julian and Salomea (Mendrek) Ciesluk. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School in 1947 and moved to Fairview in 1959 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a secretary for many years at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and was a member of the Fairview American Legion Post 438 Auxiliary in Chicopee where she also served as a Past President. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Norman J. Doray who was Called Home on July 20, 2006. They were married on February 3, 1951 at Mater Dolorosa Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 55 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving children, Norman C. Doray and his wife, Cindy, of Chicopee, Deb. A. Doray of Randolph, Ronald F. Doray and his wife, Penny, of Belchertown and Edmund M. Doray and his wife, Julie, of Divide, CO; her eight cherished grandchildren, Heather Doray, Jason Doray and his wife, Amy, Megan Bernash and her husband, Greg, Derek Doray, Amanda Rand and her husband, Jared, and Kelsey McMorrow and her husband, Stephen, Karley Besozzi and her husband, Jeff, and Amber Doray; her nine cherished great grandchildren, Peyton and Devon Doray, Matthew, Andrew, Joshua and Josiah Bernash, and Declan, Stella and Madelyn Rand; her dear sister in law, Ann-Marie Robert and her husband, Lester, of Bradenton, FL; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her five dear brothers and two dear sisters. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will be private at Sainte Rose Cemetery in Chicopee. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
