Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy (Carroll) Cormier, who peacefully departed this world on December 3, 2023, at Preferred Care Absecon, surrounded by her loving children. Cindy, born on January 1, 1955, leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a healthy dose of sarcasm that touched the lives of all who were fortunate to know her.

Beloved granddaughter to the late Catherine Carroll, Cindy carried forward the values and love instilled in her by her family. Her connection to her roots was a source of strength and resilience throughout her life, sprinkled with a unique blend of warmth, witty banter, and artistic passion.

Cindy was a daughter to predeceased parents James Carroll and Lois (Mashek) Olin, and a beloved sister to Darla (Fred) Pettigrew, Daryl Olin, June (John) Mitchell, and Jane (Tim) Bieri.

Her most important and cherished occupation was that of a Mother. Cindy's dedication to her children, Michael (Angela) Cormier, Meghan (Carlo) Pagliarini, the late Allen Cormier, Monica (Jeremy) Lynch, and Marissa (John) Leary, was the cornerstone of her life. She nurtured them with boundless love, offering unwavering support, guidance, and creating a home filled with both genuine warmth and good-natured teasing.

Michael, Cindy's eldest son, shared a special bond with his mother that transcended physical distance. Though separated by miles, their hearts remained intricately connected, a testament to the enduring strength of a mother-son relationship. Michael's place as the eldest held a unique significance in Cindy's heart, and the love they shared was a constant thread woven through the fabric of their lives.

Meghan, Cindy's dedicated daughter, played a significant role in her mother's life, especially during times of need. Meghan's frequent travels to care for Cindy demonstrated a remarkable commitment and love that knew no bounds. Her unwavering dedication and sacrifices underscored the profound bond between mother and daughter, creating a legacy of love, support, and shared moments that will forever be etched in their hearts.

Monica, her beloved daughter, held a special place in Cindy's heart. Cindy faced health challenges, and Monica, without hesitation, took on the role of caregiver. For over seven years, Monica provided unwavering care, displaying a remarkable strength and devotion that defined the essence of a daughter's love. Her tireless efforts, compassion, and commitment to Cindy's well-being were a testament to the extraordinary bond they shared.

Marissa, the devoted daughter, held a uniquely special place in Cindy's heart. The bond they shared was beyond words, and Marissa's presence brought immeasurable joy and light into Cindy's life. As the baby of the family, Marissa was not only a source of endless delight but also a constant reminder of the precious moments that defined the essence of family. Cindy's love for Marissa was a testament to the unbreakable ties that bound their hearts together, and in the end, Marissa was her favorite.

Cindy is survived by her adoring granddaughters, Halle Farrell, Alana Cormier, Emily Pagliarini, Elizabeth Cormier, Emma Cormier, Lilliana Cormier, and Abigail Cormier, who were a continued source of pride and joy in her life.

Cousins by birth, Kathleen (Jack) Pouche, had the most important role of chosen sister, being there for all the ups and downs that Cindy had to endure in life. Kathy's steadfast presence provided comfort, companionship, and unwavering support, creating a bond that transcended the cousin relationship, making her an integral part of Cindy's journey. She is also survived by John, David, and Catherine Pouche.

In her 68 years of life, Cindy found joy in simple pleasures, with hobbies that included watching the Food Network, indulging in game shows, spending days at the beach, relishing the experience of going out to eat, and expressing herself through art. Her creative passion extended to her love for crocheting, a skill she mastered and used to create beautiful and cherished pieces.

Cindy's compassionate spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she embraced the role of an elderly caregiver. Her kindness and empathy brought comfort to those in their later years, reflecting her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Cindy is survived by countless friends and relatives who were touched by her love and will carry her spirit forward in their hearts.

Cindy's celebration of life will take place on April 6, 2024, beginning at 11 am at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, Massachusetts, where friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and pay their respects. Following the ceremony, a visit to Revere Beach will take place, continuing the tradition of enjoying life's simple pleasures with a hint of humor.

In keeping with Cindy's spirit, the celebration will culminate with a meal at Kelly's Roast Beef, featuring her favorite combination of scallops, french fries, and onion rings. This shared meal is a tribute to the moments of laughter, camaraderie, and artistic expression that Cindy cherished with her loved ones.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support during this difficult time. Let us join together on April 6th to celebrate the life of Cindy Cormier, whose memory, laced with warmth, compassion, artistic passion, and a bit of sarcasm, will forever shine in our hearts.
